Hey Rachel, it looks like you guys are doing great. Tammy told me that you guys were expecting again and that's awesome! How long have you been living in WY? I lived there my freshman year and wasn't too happy about it, but that's probably because I was still in HS. Do you remember any of the silly things we did when we were little? I remember swapping band instruments and other embarrasing things I did that I wish I couldn't remember, but I guess that's all part of growing up! -Emily
Oohh my gosh Rachel...you are so freakin gorgeous...you always have been but I love the dark hair! What a cute little baby you got too! I saw your blog on Lea's, hope you don't mind, Oh yeah, I haven't seen Adam since he was like 4 years old! So crazy! And your mom is still so beautiful...always will be! Take care, Michelle Finlayson (Peterson)
I'm sorry for you. I thrive on my sleep and Keyton is such a great sleeper. It sounds like a rough situation. I can tell you what we have done and it might help but no gaurantees here. Lately Keyton has been crying when he has to go to bed. So we let him have some things for comfort. We let him have a nightlight, favorite blanket, favorite stuffed animal, a small drink of water, some music, and the door open a tiny bit. Sounds like alot but then the first time he yells, cries, gets out of bed, we just take one of those things away, put him back in his bed and talk to him about it. Maybe you could try talking to him about how now he is such a big boy and is going to be a big brother you really need him to be a good helper and stay in his bed. That there is nothing to be scared of and let him pick some things that would make him feel better other than Mom laying in bed with him. When Keyton does get something taken away he doesn't get it again until the next night and when I go in to take it away I never appologize but just say stuff like "that stinks that you have to loose your panda because you didn't do what mommy asked." I learned from a love and logic technique that you have to be sympathetic for the child but never sorry for enforcing rules. I also always watch "Suppernanny" and something I love that she does I think would really work for you. When he wakes up at night or gets out of bed, the first time, you go in talk about it, try to calm him down and tell him he is going to go back to sleep in his bed. The next time, you say even less, like I already told you, you are sleeping in your bed, the third time, you say "to your bed" and then every time after that you don't say a word to him and just carry him back there. I'm assuming he's in big bed, but if he's still in a crib, you might just have to try letting him cry it out. I know some kids will cry for hours. but once you let them do it and don't give in, it gets much better. you might have to buy some earplugs seriously. I think it is going to be a huge battle but I think if you give it a couple weeks of a good fight and not giving in, it will get better. It's just hard to not give in because you love them so much. Keyton always asks if he can sleep in our bed and we tell him "no our bed is just for mommy and daddy, that's why we bought you a big boy bed" He still always asks but it's just a rule. A funny story though, the other night he wanted to sleep in our room and he told Trevor, "but I'm a girl" and Trevor couldn't figure out why Keyton thought that mattered. Then the next night he's like "I'm a girl though and I have brown hair like mommy." apparently he thought if he was a girl with brown hair he could sleep in there. Kids are funny. Sorry this is like a novel, but I really hope it help. There's also a website called mammasource.com where you can post questions like that and other moms will reply. you could try it. SOrry it's so long. Let me know how things go.
Hi Rachel, I just found yours and Heathers blogs today on Dayna's. I did not even know you and Heather were pregnant, how exciting. That is to funny you guys have your babies so close, how fun is that for the kids : ). Anyways I just wanted to say hi and your blog is really cute!

I know what you mean about trying to get them to look at you when you talk. Sometimes I swear Keyton has ADD but I know he hears me cause every time I say something I shouldn't he repeats it. Good Luck to you and let me know how things go. I'll be praying for you.
Rachel, Congratulations on the baby girl! My wife is way into the blogging thing and wants to add you guys. Tell my favorite cousin hi for me...it pretty much sucks that we don't get together more often.
Life is sooo good. I look at my life and can not believe how blessed I am. Family truly is the greatest blessing ever. I have two beautiful children and the best husband ever.
